A Dundee drug dealer has been stripped of more than £28,000 following a court ruling.
Niki George Hunter, 31, was jailed for six and a half years in June at the High Court in Dundee after being found guilty of supplying heroin.
A confiscation order for £28,445 was made against Hunter at the High Court in Edinburgh on Monday.
In autumn last year police mounted a surveillance operation following information that heroin would be received from Glasgow into Dundee.
On November 15 Hunter was observed to be involved in the handover of drugs for cash.
Following his arrest police seized 1,993 grams of heroin and recovered an Adidas bag containing £28,445 in cash.
Lindsey Miller, head of the Serious and Organised Crime Division, said: “Niki George Hunter was involved in a large scale operation to flood the streets of Dundee with heroin.
“We will continue to work with colleagues in law enforcement to do all in our power to disrupt drug trafficking businesses and confiscate their profits.
“The funds recovered from these criminals will be added to the £60 million already gathered from proceeds of crime to be re-invested in the community by Scottish ministers, through the CashBack for Communities programme.”
