The driver of a mobility scooter has been charged with culpable and reckless conduct for allegedly knocking over an elderly woman on a Broughty Ferry pavement.
Police Scotland’s Tayside division confirmed that a 54-year-old man has been charged in connection with the incident and a report has been submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.
He has been accused of culpable and reckless conduct over the episode outside the Clydesdale Bank in Brook Street on October 4 in which the woman suffered fractures to her lower back and pelvis.
The woman was admitted to Ninewells Hospital for treatment for a broken tailbone, a small broken bone in her pelvis and a chipped bone in her shoulder.
Her granddaughter said she would suffer “months of pain and a long recuperation.”
She appealed for witnesses to come forward with information to help police catch the culprit.
