A significant amount of police vehicles disgorged officers in protective clothing and bearing shields. They filed into a property in North Court Street shortly before 4.45pm. Within 20 minutes, however, the police presence had reduced to just one vehicle and a pair officers. Local people said they had been unaware of any incident before the arrival of Police Scotland. Witnesses did, however, describe a strong smell of drugs emanating from the close at the flats. Police Scotland would say only that officers were in attendance at an “ongoing incident”.
