Tributes have been paid to passionate Dundee FC fan Bruce Clark, who has died after a year-long battle with cancer.
Mr Clark’s wife, Elaine, said he was a devoted husband, dad and grandad.
The 47-year-old grew up in Monifieth and died at the Cornhill Macmillan Hospital in Perth earlier this month surrounded by his family.
Better known to his fellow fans and members of Perth Dees 62 Club as Rambo, he was diagnosed with cancer last year.
Mr Clark took ill at his home in Perth one night last March and ended up in hospital where a tumour in his stomach was diagnosed.
His wife said: “There had been no sign of illness up until that point and it all happened so quickly after that.”
Mr Clark stayed in Ninewells from last December until around two weeks before he died on March 12, when he was transferred to Perth.
Mrs Clark said: “We were all with him at the end me, our sons and his mum and dad, Gordon and Isobel Clark, who still stay in Monifieth.
“One of the great joys for him towards the end of his life was that he was able to spend some time with our first grandchild, Poppy, who was born on February 12, exactly a month before he died.”
Such was the man’s devotion to Dundee FC that he named his younger son after one-time club captain Gavin Rae.
“Whenever he could watch them play he did, sometimes even swapping his shifts at ScotRail to be able to go to a game,” Mrs Clark added.
Mr Clark is survived by Elaine, sons Jordan and Gavin and granddaughter Poppy.
