Police in Dundee are investigating allegations teachers were assaulted by pupils at a city secondary school.
More than one incident is understood to have taken place at St Paul’s Academy on Thursday afternoon.
Officers investigated at the school and inquiries are continuing.
It is not known whether anyone sustained injuries as a result of the alleged attacks.
Dundee City Council confirmed police were called and a spokesman for the force said it had received a report regarding “incidents of assault” at a school in Dundee.
Strathmartine councillor Kevin Keenan said: “It is always alarming when you hear that one of our teachers may have been assaulted.
“I will be taking the matter up with our director of education.
“We have had incidents in Dundee where staff have been hurt in our schools.
“It is an issue that perhaps needs looked at again as we need to ensure that our staff are looked after.”
Parents have previously expressed concern about safety at the new school, created in a merger between Lawside Academy and St Saviour’s High School.
One mother contacted The Courier to say she had heard more than one teacher had been assaulted during the incidents.
She said: “Things are really bad there at the moment.
“It makes me worried for the safety of my son.”
Another parent said police had been called to the school after reports of a fight involving a number of pupils.
