Ferrari’s loses alcohol licence for a week after illegal lock-in

Ferrari’s pub in Dundee has lost its licence for a week for hosting an after-hours lock-in.
Police dealing with an assault in a nearby street discovered the lock-in at 4am on Sunday September 1 but despite banging on the doors they were refused entry.
Dundee City Council’s licensing committee today decided to inflict the temporary ban after reading the police report into the incident.
Chief Inspector Caroline Scobbie had reported: “There is little doubt in my mind that alcohol had been consumed on the premises after hours, although this had all been cleared up, and no evidence was found to confirm this.
“But what is absolutely clear is that there were people in the bar after closing time, these people were fully aware that police were outside and refused to allow them entry.”
Licence holder Charles Smith said he would lose two functions planned for the weekend as a result of Thursday’s decision.
