A film starring Hollywood A-lister Scarlett Johansson that was partly filmed on a beach in Angus will be shown in Tayside.
Under the Skin, which filmed for five days in Auchmithie, by Arbroath, is to be shown at Dundee Contemporary Arts from March 14 to 27.
Helmed by Sexy Beast director Jonathan Glazer, the film features Johansson as an alien sent to Earth by a rich corporation to pick up unwary hitchhikers and harvest their organs.
The movie was shot using “directorial subterfuge”, as Johansson drove around Glasgow in a van filled with hidden cameras.
She persuaded strangers to get into her vehicle before eventually explaining to some of them that they had unknowingly joined a film.
DCA said: “Fans of Jonathan Glazer’s work either in film or landmark music videos have been waiting a long time for a new feature film from this cult director.
“When it was announced that his newest project was a cinematic adaptation of Michel Faber’s critically acclaimed novel Under The Skin, anticipation reached fever pitch.
“The results will enrapture some and perplex others, but it will certainly rattle around in your brain for a long time to come.”
It is not yet known if the film will be given a mainstream release at multiplex cinema complexes.
