Payback order for woman who called Irishman a “mink”
ByThe Courier Reporter
A young Dundee woman who called an Arbroath man from Ireland a “minky b*****d” while visiting a friend in the Angus town has received a two-year Community Payback Order.
Natalie Hawes, of Brown Constable Pend, Dundee, also accused the man of talking “verbal diarrhoea” in the incident at Arbroath High Street on August 30, leading to her admitting a charge at Forfar Sheriff Court of acting in a racially-aggravated manner and causing distress to the man.
Depute fiscal Jill Drummond said residents of a flat there had encountered problems after a new tenant moved into the property six weeks earlier.
