‘Such a happy atmosphere’ runners remember the remarkable Ronnie McIntosh

A special race to remember a special Dundee fundraiser attracted hundreds of runners at the weekend.
The first Scottish Organ Donation/Transplant Awareness 5k/10k race in memory of Ronnie McIntosh was run in Camperdown Park on Sunday.
Ronnie, who had been the recipient of a kidney transplant and was a campaigner to raise awareness of organ donation, died this year.Click here for a full photo galleryHis widow Cecilia, who ran in both of the races, said it had been a “very emotional” event.
“Ronnie would have been so proud,” she said. “It was great to see so many people here. It would be lovely to have it annually there’s such a happy atmosphere.”
Ronnie was a member of running club Hawkhill Harriers and, despite losing both his lower limbs, returned to running.
