Man held after early-morning police operation in Mary Slessor Square

A man was detained by police after an early-morning stand-off at a block of flats in Dundee.
Police attended Mary Slessor Square, off Victoria Street, shortly after 2.30am on Friday, with 11 police cars and the road was temporarily closed.
A spokesman for Police Scotland’s Tayside Division said: “It was a fairly serious police incident. There was an incident ongoing at a property off Victoria Street, which resulted in it being closed off for a period of time.
“It was in a block of flats on Mary Slessor Square. The road was closed from just after 5am until just after 6am while the incident was resolved.
“Nobody needed medical treatment. One male was in custody assisting police with inquiries.”
