Dundee City Council is to set aside £186,000 to maintain unsafe headstones.
A detailed inspection of all historic headstones has been completed with all of those over 1.5 metres tall and in a dangerous condition already repaired or made safe.
Funding will now be made available to continue the inspection and maintenance programme.
Incoming depute convener of neighbourhood services Councillor Vari McDonald said: “This investment will allow an ongoing safety regime to operate across our cemeteries in Dundee.”
She added council officers work hard to notify relatives about any work done on the headstones of their loved ones.
