A man who pulled a bottle from his trousers was jailed for threatening and abusive behaviour.
Liam John Paul Gorrie, 21, of Red Admiral Court, Dundee, was jailed for seven months at Dundee Sheriff Court for the offence, which culminated with him pulling the bottle out after making threats of violence on January 4.
Defence solicitor Chris Gilmartin said while Gorrie did not have a problem with addiction or mental health issues he did suffer from a “personality problem”.
He said: “He suffered throughout his formative years and his psychiatric report was one of the most worrying I have ever seen.
“There are clear anger issues.
“He can present as extremely polite and intelligent one day but the next he can be highly irrational.
“It is unfortunate in the extreme that professionals are not able to give any assistance to Mr Gorrie.”
Sheriff Elizabeth Munro said: “I don’t think there’s any alternative to a custodial sentence until you come to your senses and only you can so that.
“This is a serious matter and given your record it becomes more serious still.”
Sheriff Munro sentenced Gorrie to seven months, to begin on completion of his current prison sentence which expires in May.
