Three friends have decided to combine their love for photo-sharing service Instagram with their love for Dundee in a bid to promote the city’s attractions.
Ian Black, Craig Anderson and Kristy Ashton have arranged to meet up with Instagrammers from throughout the country to share their pride in the city with more than half a million followers.
The innovative trio decided to invite citizen journalists to unite with them in a quest to share Dundee’s cultural landmarks and historic attractions with Instagram users.
Ian Black, who moved to Dundee from Aberdeen 20 years ago and instantly fell in love with the city, said: “There is so much to shout about.
“The V&A Dundee, DCA, McManus, Rep, Space, Scottish Dance Theatres, Duncan of Jordanstone art college, our burgeoning computer and mobile phone games industry and so much more.

“We are looking at an unprecedented opportunity to showcase the city on Saturday March 12.
“We’re currently planning an itinerary of what we’d like people to see and have things like the V&A and the High Mill at the Verdant Works already on there.
“People who are coming along will want to know the Dundee story.
“The Instagrammers coming along have a combined following of more than half a million, so it will be very exciting.

Ian continued: “I love Dundee and am very positive about the city. Social media is instant, so people will see our photographs and videos right away.”
