Police have issued a safety plea to Dundee fans ahead of the Championship decider at Dens Park this weekend.
The Dark Blues host Dumbarton on Saturday and a win against the visitors guarantees them automatic promotion to the Premiership.
A large crowd is expected at the game with tickets already being snapped up by eager supporters.
Officers are reminding fans that alcohol, containers, smoke bombs and pyrotechnic flares are not permitted at the game and anyone who tries to take them into Dens will face action.
Supporters are also being told to avoid going on to the pitch at full-time if Dundee secure promotion.
Match Commander Chief Inspector Sandy Brodie said: “We’re looking forward to what is a crucial fixture for the Dark Blues and have been working closely with the clubs and match day stewards to try to ensure an excellent sporting atmosphere on the day within which we intend to keep people safe.
“With a large home crowd expected to cheer Dundee on, we would recommend that people arrive early at the ground, to avoid queuing and so that they are all set for kick-off.
“There may very well be a carnival atmosphere on the day too, but we would urge fans not to get so caught up in the occasion that they pose a risk to themselves or others, or flout well-established ground safety regulations.
“We want a great occasion where everyone enjoys the match, but the safety of everyone attending is our overriding concern and we will take appropriate action where necessary.
“Like the players and staff at Dundee Football Club we are all looking forward to what we hope will be a great occasion, particularly for the home side. As well as giving their full support for their team, we hope that those attending will support Police Scotland and the stewards in keeping people safe.”
