Work to revamp a Dundee primary school is now under way.
Construction at Barnhill Primary is part of work in a £2 million project.
The school on Falkland Crescent will get four new classrooms and nursery building, as well as its own gym, as part of the works.
Construction is due to be finished in time for the next school year, and over the next fortnight the nursery building will be moved into place using a crane.
There will also be fencing put up around the building site and a temporary access road put into the school from Abercromby Street.
In a letter to residents, contractors involved in the construction have promised to keep disruption to a minimum. Council leader Ken Guild, who represents the Ferry ward, said: “This is part of phased work as part of a £2 million project.
“There’s going to be four new classrooms created, a new nursery and a purpose-built games room. The work has been done over the October holidays to minimise class disruption and for pupil and staff safety.”
