Man to stand trial accused of following nine-year-old girl in his van

A man is to stand trial accused of stalking a nine-year-old girl.

Brian Bruce is alleged to have “engaged in a course of conduct that caused fear or alarm” by approaching the girl and requesting that she tell him her name and address.

He is further said to have repeatedly followed her in his van, activated his lights and sounded his horn, waved at her and loitered in his van outside her school.

The incidents were said to have happened between February 15 and 22 in parks and streets across Dundee.

Bruce, 56, of Palais Court, Dundee, denied a charge of stalking on summary complaint when he appeared at Dundee Sheriff Court on Thursday.

He was granted bail and is due to stand trial in April.
