A murder accused was seen covered in blood in the living room of his alleged victim, a trial has heard. Matthew Pope had blood “everywhere” including his face and hair when seen by witness Sarah Hendry, she said. Ms Hendry was giving evidence this morning at the trial of 22-year-old Pope at the High Court in Aberdeen. Pope denies murdering Michael Given in Lochee’s Elders Court multi-storey on July 20 or 21 last year. Miss Hendry said that Mr Given was lying on the floor covered with a television unit as Pope’s then girlfriend implored him to “stop”. The trial continues. For more, see Friday’s Courier.
