Fire-damaged launderette reopens across the street
ByThe Courier Reporter
A Broughty Ferry launderette destroyed in a massive blaze just over a week ago will be back in business today.
Grossi’s Ferry Launderette suffered an early morning blaze on February 16.
However, owner Michael Grossi has signed a short-term deal that will allow him to open temporary premises opposite the burnt-out remains of the Gray Street shop.
He said: “Our main concern has been the customers and the items they’ve lost.
“We know we’re covered by insurance, so we’ve been focused on getting operational as quickly as possible.
“We hope to be back open within eight weeks but, in the meantime, we’re opening a temporary shop, across the road in the Ferry.”
The cause of last week’s blaze is under investigation but is not thought to be suspicious.
