Dundee’s housing convener calls for end to ‘merry-go-round’ of evictions of Travellers

Dundee’s housing convener has called for an end to the “merry-go-round” of evictions of Travellers in the city.
Councillor John Alexander made the comment in response to a plea by Travellers pitched up on a site on Jack Martin Way for the council to reconsider their eviction notice.
Mr Alexander said it was time to end the complaining and take a different approach opening the door for discussions with the Travelling community.
“We have been looking at numerous options which will work towards the ultimate aim of reducing costs to the taxpayer and impact on all communities so I’d say that nothing is ‘off the table’.
“Proposals will work towards the interests of all parties.”
