A man from Dundee who racially abused his girlfriend and terrorised her while she was pregnant with their daughters is facing a custodial sentence over a campaign of abuse.
Kenneth Macmillan, 41, called Shiree Afzal “fat and ugly” and branded her “a stupid P***” during their relationship.
He also attacked the 26-year-old in front of friends and bombarded her with messages after they had split up.
He now faces jail for the offences committed at properties in Dundee and the Renfrewshire towns of Paisley and Erskine, between May 2010 and September 2014.
The details emerged when Macmillan, of Craigowan Road, Dundee, appeared in the dock at Paisley Sheriff Court to face 17 domestic abuse charges.
Macmillan accepted his guilt after defence solicitor Gordon Ritchie struck a deal with prosecutors which saw him plead guilty to seven of the charges against him.
The other 10 were dropped.
The court heard the couple met on an internet dating site in November 2008 and moved in together in 2009.
Macmillan left his home in Dundee to move in with Afzal at a property in Paisley’s Lochinver Crescent.
His solicitor said that he did not hold racist views, evidenced by the fact that he has two children with Afzal.
However, he said things in the heat of the moment which he knew would cause his partner pain.
Sheriff Colin Pettigrew called for Macmillan to be assessed by social workers ahead of sentencing.
Macmillan could be jailed for as long as five years when he returns to the dock at Paisley tomorrow.
