Fresh details have emerged of how firefighters battled the ferocious blaze at the Murraygate Christmas Shop in Dundee.
Scottish Fire and Rescue Group Manager Martin Tait said that around 50 emergency personnel used multiple hose reels as well as an aerial appliance to pour water on the fire.
The new details emerged as part of a report to councillors on the operations of the fire service in Dundee.

report reveals that the number of primary fires in Dundee has risen by 150% between October and December last year, compared to the same period in 2013.Mr Tait said: “A total of 20 deliberate primary fires were attended by operational crews during the third quarter of 2014-15.
“This is the same amount as the five-year average.
“Eight of these incidents were dwelling fires, five were non-residential buildings, four were vehicles and three were outdoor storage.”
Mr Tait also highlighted the success of educational initiatives in stopping unauthorised bonfires on Guy Fawkes Night.
He said: “This reporting period encompasses traditionally one of the busiest times of the year for Fire and Rescue Services across the country and a lot of preventative work was undertaken during this period in the local area.
“In particular engagement with schools located in areas where there has been significant activity in the past and also with offsite educational services is worthy of mention.
“The results from this and other initiatives have been encouraging with a continued decline in the number of unauthorised bonfires attended on November 5 in comparison to previous years.”
