A Dundee model is starring in one of the world’s biggest fashion shows.
Elaine Harris has been selected to model at London Fashion Week later this month.
The 33-year old was one of hundreds of people who applied to showcase the couture label Kolchagov Barba on the catwalk.
Her selection for the premier event tops an already remarkable year for the Dundonian who, after setting up a Facebook page, has now found herself in demand across the world.
She said: “I cannot believe how much my life has changed in the space of a year.
“This time last year I was asking people on my Facebook page to vote for me in a small photo competition with aspirations of becoming a model.
“Now I have made it through to the finals of Top Model UK out of over 4,000 people, had my pictures shown not only in the UK, but in Europe, America and even Australia and now to be selected to walk in London Fashion Week is a dream come true.
“Couture label Kolchagov Barba selected my portfolio out of hundreds of applicants and, after attending the casting in London last week and a fitting to try on their stunning garments, I was chosen to walk for them. I cannot wait.”
London Fashion Week, which takes place in February and September every year, is one of the biggest fashion shows in the world.
Top designers as well as thousands of members of the press and public attend the event, which generates tens of millions of pounds worth of orders from buyers.
“It has all been such a whirlwind and I am really excited to think of what the next year will bring.
“I have lots of exciting projects in the pipeline,” she added.
Kolchagov Barba is a new fashion label founded by Russian Svetoslav Kolchagov and Italian Emilio Barba.
