People in Dundee are being asked to take part in community events aimed at capturing the spirit of the council’s Take Pride in Your City Campaign.
Litter picks, wild flower seed sowing and community garden events are scheduled for the coming days with the hope of motivating people to help prevent litter, dog fouling, chewing gum, fly-tipping and graffiti from blighting neighbourhoods.
The council wants to enhance Dundee’s cleanliness and garner support to raise the city’s green credentials, with the initiative being rolled out via parks, woodlands, schools and communities over the coming months.
Dundee City Council environment convener Councillor Craig Melville said: “Following the launch of Dundee City Council’s Take Pride in Your City campaign, I am delighted at the number of litter picks and planting events being organised by community groups.
“I would urge members of the public to support these events.”
