The family of a Dundee man who died at work almost two years ago are suing his employer for a six-figure sum in compensation.
Stevie Conway, 33, from St Mary’s, collapsed while cleaning a tank at Diamond Wheels Technologies, an alloy wheel refurbishment company based at Dryburgh industrial estate.
He left behind his partner Angela Garthley and children Jordan and Keri.
Ms Garthley is now taking legal action at the Court of Session and has engaged Edinburgh solicitors Waterman’s.
Neil Waterman said: “We are pressing ahead with action against Stevie’s employer on the basis of negligence and as result of which, he asphyxiated and later died.
“We are suing for compensation on behalf of Mr Conway’s partner and his two very young children. We are looking to the future and wellbeing of these young children.
“We are seeking a six-figure sum in compensation. This was a foreseeable and preventable accident.”
A spokesman for Diamond Wheels Technologies declined to comment. Mr Conway, who was a former pupil at Lawside Academy, played in goal for Bank Street Athletic football team.
