An epileptic dog that disappeared from her home two weeks ago was found on Friday.
Skye, a seven-year old collie cross-breed, vanished from her home on Cambridge Street through a gap in the garden fence over two weeks ago, on Thursday July 18.
Lynne McGrath, Skye’s owner, put up posters across the West End appealing for her return. Skye suffers from epilepsy and has to take two pills a day to avoid debilitating fits.
Despite a number of sightings in the city, by the time Lynne arrived at the location, the dog had dis-appeared again.
However, on Friday Skye was found by a man in Magdalene Yard, just off the Perth Road, after becoming caught in some barbed wire there. The man had then handed her into the SSPCA near Forfar.
“It is absolutely brilliant that she is back, we’re so happy,” Lynne said.
“After it reached two weeks we thought maybe she wouldn’t come back as she’d be gone for so long, but it is just wonderful that she has. She is not doing too badly.
“I took her to the vet where she was given a course of antibiotics and treated for cuts made by the barbed wire. We’ve also started her again on the epilepsy tablets.
“She was a bit quiet at first but seems much better today,” she added.
