An elderly woman has died in a tragic road accident in Dundee.
The woman died after being involved in a collision with a lorry on Happyhillock Road today shortly before noon.
A police spokesman said: “It’s understood that the pedestrian, who is in her early 70s, had been crossing the road at the time of the incident, which happened at about 11.55am.
“Emergency services were quickly in attendance, but tragically the woman was pronounced dead at the scene.”
Police say the woman’s identity will not be released until next of kin have been informed.
No one else was injured as a result of the incident.
