Witches and wizards appeared in Broughty Ferry to cast their spell on local muggles.
Dozens of people in fancy dress attended the area’s library to take part in the international Harry Potter book night.
The guests were treated to an evening of games, activities, quizzes, a fancy dress competition, readings from Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone as well as a trivia challenge.
Sandra Westgate, library and information officer, said: “We are so excited to be joining up with schools, libraries, bookshops and community centres throughout the UK and Ireland and beyond to celebrate the first ever Harry Potter book night.”
