More than 20 dance crews from Dundee and Angus – and even one from as far afield as Loch Lomond – gathered at the city’s Caird Hall for the Urban Chillax event.
Around 200 dancers took to the stage, with competitions for groups aged 8-12, 13-17 and 18-plus.
European hip-hop champion April Stewart and Billy Keddie were among the judges.
Layla Brown, creative director at organisers Pure Media UK, said it was important the young urban dancers got recognition for the effort they put in.
Participants had the chance to buy limited edition event T-shirts created by designer Polly Stansfield (15), who plans to launch her own label, Mo-Lilian.
The event was run in partnership with Urbaniks, and enjoyed support from the Scottish Arts Council, Paul Hamlyn Foundation and streetdancewear.com.
