Several drivers were charged with offences and three cars seized after a crackdown by police and vehicle agencies yesterday.
Automatic number plate recognition technology was used to check 4,500 vehicles as they passed along King’s Cross Road in Lochee.
Police were on the lookout for stolen cars and anyone who did not have the correct documentation.
They caught five motorists not wearing a seat belt, along with three for excise offences and three for tyre offences.
Another driver had no licence, four were caught driving without insurance and one driver was reported for the dangerous carriage of a passenger.
Another had no valid MOT certificate, one person was caught driving while using their phone and one driver had dangerously overloaded their van.
Constable Steve Cook said: “Our road policing units will continue to undertake these roadside checks on vehicles for roadworthiness, documentation and, where required, to ensure they are not using illegal fuel.
“Where appropriate we will use available powers to seize illegal vehicles and remove them from the roads.”
