Police in Dundee have renewed their appeal for information about a man in distinctive clothing who plunged from the Tay Road Bridge.
The search for the man who entered the water about 1am on Sunday was called off after the police and the RNLI found no sign of him in the area of the bridge or the shoreline.
He is believed to be in his late twenties or early thirties and was wearing a long dark jacket, trousers, white trainers and a Nepalese-style knitted beanie hat with ear flaps and tassels. He also had a red beard and may have worn glasses.
After drawing a blank with their search on Sunday police urged the public to contact them with information and gave an assurance that any relatives of the man who came forward would be given support.
A police spokesman said: “Efforts to trace the man are continuing and Tayside Division officers are following certain lines of inquiry in respect of establishing who he is.”
There was no report of a missing person answering the description of the man seen plunging into the river. Anyone with information should call 101.
