The newly renovated Maryfield post office will enjoy extended opening hours, it has been revealed.
The shop will have three new screened serving positions and customers will be able to take advantage of five extra service hours over the weekend.
The same range of products and services will be available, but customers will now also be able to do their car tax at the branch.
Post Office Regional Network Manager for Scotland and the North of England Suzanne Richardson said: “We understand how important having a Post Office is to residents in Maryfield and we are confident that this new modern service will meet the needs of the community and secure services for the future.”
Dundee East MP Stewart Hosie welcomed the changes, saying: “I am pleased to hear of the changes and improvements to Maryfield Post Office which is a popular and friendly branch at the centre of the thriving hub of Stobswell. It is a well-used branch and, surrounded by a range of local independent shops, is a key component of the local community.
“The branch will be refurbished and modernised and it will now open on Saturdays until 5.30pm.
“These improvements will be welcomed by the community and all who want to see Post Offices continue to improve the services they offer.”
