The other driver was charged by police. A car ploughed through a wall into the gardens of two houses in Broughty Ferry in a spectacular crash on Saturday. The blue Hyundai Getz was in collision with a black Volkswagen Passat at the junction of Balgillo Road and Elcho Drive about 3.40pm. The Hyundai had been travelling east on Balgillo Road and the collision made it veer across the carriageway into the properties on the south side. It demolished part of the garden wall of No 6 Elie Avenue, where the houses front on to Balgillo Road. Its momentum made it plough on and come to rest with its front section over the boundary into No 8. The emergency services were summoned and two ambulances arrived on the scene. The female driver of the Hyundai was checked over by paramedics and although shaken, she declined further medical attention. The male driver of the Volkswagen Passat was unhurt but he was cautioned and charged by the police. The occupants of No 6 Elie Avenue, who were in at the time of the incident, declined to speak about the drama.
