Hundreds of runners preparing for the Dundee marathon and half-marathon on Sunday are being advised to keep hydrated to cope with the expected warm weather.
Organiser Nicholas Kydd said the temperature was predicted to be around 21C during the races.
“That will be warm for a half-marathon and even more so for the marathon. Runners should make sure that they are drinking plenty of fluids,” he said.
Almost 1000 people have signed up for the half-marathon, which starts at Camperdown Park and goes clockwise around the Green Circular route to finish near Barnhill rock garden.
Despite a low entry of only around 100 people the marathon will also be staged, with runners carrying on the Green Circular to complete the journey back at Camperdown.
Both runs are a mix of trail, path and pavement.
Mr Kydd said he also wanted to ensure drivers knew they could be held up temporarily during the run. The three places where delays are likely are Laird Street near Clatto, Abroath Road near Clearwater Park and Maule Street.
