Dundee Rep is to be involved in the world’s largest celebration of youth theatre.
The venue is taking part in National Theatre Connections 500. Now in its 21st year, the event offers an opportunity for youth theatres and school drama groups to stage plays specially written for youngsters aged between 13 and 19 by some of the country’s top playwrights.
Six theatre groups from across Scotland will take part in the event, which runs from May 6 to 8, including Grove Academy Youth Theatre and Dundee Rep Youth Theatre 13-14s.
Each company will stage their chosen play in a local venue before it transfers to one of the NT’s partner theatres and performs alongside other Connections companies.
Twelve companies will then be asked to perform their productions at the National Theatre in July.
