MasterChef: The Professionals winner Jamie Scott is to open up a pop-up restaurant on Dundee’s Perth Road this month.
The 27-year-old chef is offering Dundonians to chance to sample a six-course tasting menu when he opens the pop-up restaurant in Pacamara.
However, diners will have to move fast as the restaurant will only be open for two nights – November 24 and 25.
The tasting menu will include some of Jamie’s winning dishes from MasterChef: The Professionals.
“I’ve done pop-up restaurants in Arbroath and Montrose but this will be the first one in Dundee,” he said.
“We have a few more planned for December but those locations are still secret.”
Jamie said he chose Pacamara, formerly known as Espress Oh!, after speaking to the restaurant’s manager Barry Thomson.
“I went in for a coffee and was speaking to Barry and he said he is keen to do more food in his establishment,” said Jamie.
“The cafe itself is really beautiful so it should be really good.”
Jamie is also busy getting ready to launch his own restaurant on the other side of The Tay.
The Newport will open early in the new year and will be housed in part of the former Newport Hotel.
He said: “It’s absolutely massive. I only just got back from holiday and have already been really busy with it. We are getting the kitchen put in now.
“There is also going to be a private dining room at the top which will also be suitable for small functions which is going to have amazing views.”
The new series of MasterChef: The Professionals begins next week and Jamie admitted he will tune in to see who succeeds him as champion – when he gets the time.
“I will have a wee look. I would like to see who takes on the crown,” he said.
