Tens of thousands of tokens have been collected by determined readers of The Courier keen to secure a fantastic new minibus for their community group.
The 17-seater Ford Transit is valued at £40,000, has plenty of space for passengers and luggage and could be a godsend to all kinds of organisations.
After months of collecting, 175 groups from across our circulation area are waiting to find who will win the prize.
Groups needed a minimum of 50 tokens to enter but many have collected hundreds of tokens and submitted multiple entry forms to increase their chances.
It has fallen to The Courier’s senior marketing executive, Lesley Taylor, and her team to count the tokens and check the entries.
The winner will be drawn out at random and the 2.2-litre diesel minibus will then be presented to its lucky new owners.

Lesley said: “The competition has been massive, with whole communities getting together to collect tokens.
“We’ve had youth groups, community transport schemes, Scout troops, voluntary organisations, day care centres and charities all putting their names into the hat.
“We’re going through all the forms and tokens at the moment and hope to be able to announce the winner within the next week.”
Among those with their fingers crossed will be Girlguiding Dundee’s Ramanee Bengough, who said: “We have as many as 1,500 girls across our group and we rely on parents to drive the girls about, which is obviously easier for the parents with vehicles.
“All of our girls deserve a fair opportunity to enjoy activities and a minibus would help us do that.”
