‘Full steam ahead’ for new Whitfield housing estate
ByThe Courier Reporter
A developer hopes to start construction work on 30 homes in a Dundee housing estate this March despite a minor “bump”.
InverTay Homes had withdrawn its plans to build the properties at the corner of Whitfield Terrace and Whitfield Loan on Monday after a survey revealed a sewer pipe was running through the site.
It also emerged the plans fell out of line with the road networks.
But new proposals have been submitted which will see the site move a few metres east of the pipe.
Director of management Edward Wighton said the firm was prepared to make “tweaks” and submit a new application in order to suit the development master plan of Whitfield, as well as their own commercial needs.
Fraser Middleton, of architecture firm ARKTX, said the project is still “full steam ahead” despite the project being postponed.
