Residents at two Dundee respite units could see their weekly charges increased.
Service users at the Whitetop Centre and the Mackinnon Centre will have their bills put up if a recommendation to Dundee City Council’s social work and health committee is approved on Monday.
The report reads: “The local authority is required by statute to review its charges for residential accommodation for adults and older people each year.
“The method of calculating charges is prescribed by regulation and guidance and results in a full economic cost being calculated, including overheads and depreciation.”
The proposal, if passed, will mean the standard charges per week at the Whitetop Centre will rise from £2,760 to £2,795 from April 2013.
The Mackinnon Centre charges will go up from £934 to £962 a week.
Only residents with savings in excess of £25,250 or significant weekly income pay the full standard charge of their care.
This only applies to seven residents.
Every resident also retains at least £23.90 a week in personal allowance.
