Scotland’s only life-sized fully interactive humanoid robot will wave his final farewell to Dundee Science Centre at the end of the month before heading back home.
Robothespian arrived in Dundee last year as part of Robot: The Fantasy and The Reality exhibition, and has stayed on since, entertaining thousands of visitors.
Having undergone more than six years’ continuous development since his creation, Robothespian has proved a popular figure in science centres, visitor attractions and academic research institutions around the world.
It will soon leave Dundee Science Centre to make way for this year’s summer exhibition Myths and Monsters.

Rebecca Erskine, science learning officer, said: “We will be sad to bid farewell to Robothespian, who has fully immersed himself in the fabric of Dundee Science Centre and more than proved himself as an exceptionally popular feature for visitors of all ages.
“After being the focal point of last year’s exhibition we were delighted that he could extend his stay and continue to intrigue and amuse our visitors for many more months to come.
“We wish him well in his next posting and have no doubt that he’ll be just as popular wherever he goes.”
