Dundee bus driver under investigation after pram row
ByThe Courier Reporter
An inquiry has been launched after a Dundee National Express driver allegedly refused to let a mum with a pram on his bus.
When the number 28 to Douglas pulled up at a stop, the woman attempted to get on but there are claims she was told by the driver that there was no space left for prams.
Nicola Brown from Lochee was already on the bus.
She said the driver shouted at her after she offered to move her daughter’s toy pram out of the way to make room.
Ms Brown said this caused her four-year-old daughter, Grace McCabe, to burst into tears.
Two other pushchairs were already occupying spaces on the bus along with Grace’s toy one. National Express buses are legally allowed to carry only three at a time.
Nicola said she offered to fold up Grace’s pram and put it on her lap.
“He shouted at me not to get involved,” she claimed.
A National Express Dundee spokesman said: “A full investigation has been launched into the allegations made against our member of staff.”
