A Father’s Day fundraiser is being held in memory of a Dundee girl who passed away from cystic fibrosis.
Gary Manini and his family are holding a family fun day and barbecue to raise awareness of the illness that claimed 19-year-old Sammy Haralambous’s life, just days after her wedding to Gary’s stepson, Yanni.
The fun day and barbecue will take place from noon to 4pm on June 16 at The Landmark, Dundee.
The event is being organised by Fans of Cystic Fibrosis Trust, a group set up by Gary and his family as a tribute to Sammy, with the help of charity consultants Along Came Kirsty (ACK).Gary and his family want to raise as much money as possible for the Cystic Fibrosis Trust, which works to provide critical research, the best treatment and raise awareness of this life-threatening disease.
ACK have worked with Gary and family on other events, including a race night at The Taxi Club, a collection at Sainsbury’s, bag packing at Asda, a football tournament at Soccerworld and a pub quiz in the Fort Bar, which have so far raised more than £1,500 of a £10,000 target for this year.
The entry fee for the fun day is £2 for adults and £1 for children. Tickets can be reserved at fansofcysticfibrosisfamilyfundayandbbq.eventbrite.co.uk.
