The widow of a Dundee bus driver says she is “deeply disappointed” by the way National Express is handling her late husband’s case.
Janet Myzylowskyj approached Dundee West MP Jim McGovern with her concerns in December 2012.
Her husband Filep had taken his own life shortly after Christmas after struggling to recover following an accident while driving his bus. The family felt he had not received proper care and support from the company.
Mrs Myzylowskyj said: “I came to Mr McGovern to seek the help our family needed at this tragic time.
“Each time that Mr McGovern wrote to National Express I received a copy of each letter. I find it extremely strange that I received these letters but National Express claim they did not.
“All I and my family want is to get to the bottom of how National Express handled my husband’s case.”
Mr McGovern said he had written to the company on seven occasions between December and May, but had received replies only twice in February.
He hand-delivered another letter to the company’s head office in London on Monday.
He said: “This is a tragic case that deserves the speedy attention of the company, not bizarre excuses involving their mail room.”
The Courier was unable to contact National Express for comment.
