Police have issued a warning to residents after an incident involving a suspected bogus caller in Fintry.
A man called at an address on Fintry Gardens at about 3pm on Monday and spoke to the 18-year-old occupant, offering to replace an old central heating boiler for a new one.
The man arrived without an appointment and did not provide any identification.
Once inside he began to promote the sale of the boiler and asked the woman for further details, which she did not provide, before he left.
Officers are keen to trace the man who is described as 5ft 8in, of slim build, with dark grey hair, which was combed back.
He was wearing a dark woolly jumper zipped up at the front and dark dress trousers.
Police have urged all residents to be suspicious of anyone arriving unannounced at their door.
Householders should ensure doors are secure, even when at home, and use a door chain.
They should not let anyone in until they are certain of who they are, or who they claim to represent.
With regards to anyone claiming to represent a business, authority or agency, householders should demand to see their identification.
Beyond that, if a householder remains suspicious they should not let the person in and should contact the police.
