A teenage girl is in hospital after falling from a bridge in Finlathen Park.
The 15-year-old was found on “soft ground” under the stone structure around 8.30pm on Wednesday.
Paramedics put her in a brace before rushing the teenager to Ninewells.
Police said there did not appear to be suspicious circumstances but inquiries were at an early stage.
Inspector Young said: “We’re currently trying to fill in the gaps about what happened. There is nothing to suggest it was a deliberate action of someone throwing her off the bridge.”
It is understood the girl suffered back injuries but remained conscious throughout her ordeal.
Inspector Young added: “It’s a considerable drop to ground level around 30 or 40 feet. She dropped on to what is described as soft ground.
“She remained conscious and breathing and she was complaining of back pain. It’s a good thing that she is alive and heading off to hospital.”
