It was up, up and away for Dundee-based travel agents Ramsay World Travel at the weekend as they celebrated 21 years of holiday flights to Jersey from the city’s airport.
The company has taken almost 20,000 holidaymakers to the Channel Islands resort since starting the summer service, and hopes to continue for many years to come.
“It’s great that we have achieved this milestone,” said Ramsay sales manager Gregor Miller.
“We thought Jersey would be a good destination for May to September holiday flights from Dundee and it has turned out that way.
“The attractions for people in this area are that there is no hassle with journeys to bigger airports and long check-in times, it’s a nice climate and there’s plenty to do in Jersey.
“At first it was popular with older holidaymakers, but we’re finding more younger groups including families wanting to go.”
Ramsay also operated summer holiday flights to Majorca from Dundee.
These ended for economic reasons, but Jersey flights remained popular and viable.
