Property developer vows to fight bank’s £300,000 action
ByThe Courier Reporter
An Invergowrie property developer is being sued for up to £300,000 by the Allied Irish Bank.
Mark Harris, 43, is facing bankruptcy proceedings at Dundee Sheriff Court. He has vowed to fight the action.
Harris, whose firms had mortgages on a clutch of properties in the city and across Tayside, and owned the fire-ravaged Garland Place flats, said: “I’ll still be living in the same houses; I’ll still be driving the same cars.”
His former company Toprowan Limited was placed into administration earlier this year.
He claims his home address lies outside the Dundee boundary and is therefore outside the city court jurisdiction, and he promised to defend the action at Dundee Sheriff Court on May 21.
It is understood the action is being taken against Harris through his position as director of West Court Developments, formerly known as Toprowan Developments (Dundee) Limited.
