Hotel operators invited to show interest in Dundee Railway Station project
ByThe Courier Reporter
Dundee’s proposed new railway station hotel is projected to produce revenues of £2.8 million by 2018, it has emerged.
Details of the proposed 130-bedroom hotel which will cap a major redevelopment of the concourse area of the rail station are being circulated among potential operators.
The particulars, seen by The Courier, suggest there will be a “strong and sustainable” place for the new hotel in the local market despite increasing competition.
The £14m railway station hotel is due for completion in 2015, when the neighbouring £45m V&A design museum will also welcome its first visitors.
Last month, Dundee city Council’s administration leader Councillor Ken Guild said at least two hotel operators had expressed an interest in taking on the railway hotel.
However, no contract has yet been signed.
