Long journey comes to an end as flag finally raised on new Dundee karting arena

After months of delays and investment of about £400,000 Dundee’s new go-kart centre finally opens to the public.
Dundee Karting Arena, on Myrekirk Road in Gourdie Industrial Estate, has taken a year to complete and boasts a fleet of 16 petrol-powered karts capable of reaching speeds of up to 40mph.
Bosses at the exciting venue had hoped to welcome their first racers in April but the project was marred by delays. With all obstacles now overcome, general manager John Kerr Jr is looking forward to giving Dundonians their first sight of the track.
He said: ”I can’t believe it is finally about to open. It’s been a long journey and we are looking forward to welcoming the next Ayrton Senna.
”The feedback we have received so far has been fantastic.”
Dundee Karting Arena is open seven days a week.
