A 43-year-old man has appeared in court accused of robbing a Lochee betting shop and threatening to stab two staff members.
James Clark, no fixed abode, is alleged to have assaulted Betfred employees Sarah Fisher and Michael McKernie by presenting a knife at them, threatening to stab them and robbing them of £399.
The alleged offence is said to have taken place at the Betfred shop in Lochee High Street on Sunday.
Clark is also accused of possessing a knife on the same date.
He is further accused of possessing cannabis resin on February 20 at Buttars Road.
All three charges are alleged to have taken place while Clark was on bail.
Clark, who spoke only to confirm his name, appeared in private on petition at Dundee Sheriff Court yesterday before Sheriff Elizabeth Munro.
His solicitor Kevin Hampton made no motion for bail on his behalf.
Clark made no plea or declaration during the hearing and was remanded in custody.
The case was continued for further examination and is expected to call again next week.
