Dundee woman makes quite the ‘racquet’ for charity

Jennifer McArtney was making quite a racket on Saturday, but there were no objections from her fellow health club patrons.
In fact she had nothing but encouragement as she spent 12 hours playing squash, tennis, table tennis, badminton and racketball at David Lloyd Leisure, Ethiebeaton, to aid the British Heart Foundation (BHF).
Jennifer said: “I decided to raise money for the BHF because I work in cardiac rehab and BHF resources are very important in helping the patients I work with return to normal life. I also know how important exercise is in preventing and recovering from heart disease so wanted to do an exercise-based challenge. I hope to raise £500 for the foundation’s vital work.”
Kathy McIIwaine, BHF’s fundraising volunteer manager, said: “We appreciate the huge effort that people like Jennifer put into raising funds for the charity to enable us to continue our life saving work.”
